Marcus.R Woodworks

I had the pleasure of receiving these incredible serving boards from Marcus, and I couldn't be happier with the quality and environmental consciousness the brand represents. Made from recycled pallets, these boards not only showcase creativity but also contribute to a sustainable future.

Marcus.R Woodworks began when I decided to make a personalised cutting board for my grandmother using a leftover piece of merbau with my uncle’s help. The joy of crafting something meaningful and seeing her appreciation sparked my passion for recycling pallets into practical and sustainable serving boards. After gaining popularity among friends and family, I received small orders for about 2 years.

When COVID hit in 2021 and the Tamworth Country Music Festival was cancelled, I created guitar-shaped serving boards to bring the festival spirit into people’s homes an idea that quickly took off. My Swimming Career

I’ve been swimming for as long as I can remember, driven by a dream one day of making an Australian team. From 5 am starts at the pool to competing at regional, state, national and Olympic Trials, swimming was a huge part of my life and identity. However, during my later school years, I began to realise that whilst I was working hard, I might not reach that elite level I had once envisioned. Rather than seeing this as an end, it became a turning point. I decided to focus on giving back to the sport that had already given me so much by joining the NSW Swimming Youth Advisory Panel (YAP). Through YAP, I helped support programs like Beyond the Black Line, which promotes athlete wellbeing, and worked to grow participation in regional areas through initiatives like Swim League. Shifting from chasing personal bests to serving the broader swimming community gave me a new sense of purpose in the sport.
